Master class – Staying Sane in Insane Organisations

October 21st 2010

Are you constantly working around rigid processes to get any meaningful work done?

Or are you often knocked off course by the chaos around you?

Do you have to get everything agreed with armies of colleagues?

Does it feel like your organisation is draining you dry?

Do you find yourself wondering “is it me or is it them?”

This session will help you understand what is really going on in your particular organisation and your reaction to it. We’ll look at different types of ‘insane’ organisation: the obsessive/compulsive, process-driven organisation that allows no room for creativity … the completely chaotic organisation that somehow expects you to be highly effective … the massively consensual organisation that fails to get anything done … the draining organisation that serves only to manage the emotional needs of its people.

Our Master Classes are an ideal opportunity to develop specific, practical solutions to typical workplace challenges. With no more than eight people in the group, you’ll be able to learn from other senior people facing similar challenges in a range of organisations. Karen Ellis leads the Master Class (see her work here) in a lively, engaging and insightful style.

What will I learn?

  • How to diagnose organisational patterns
  • How to apply these to your own organisation and assess its health or dysfunction
  • Strategies for remaining positive within a dysfunctional organisation
  • Practical tips on how to take what you learn back to your colleagues … and stimulate real change
