Sol Davidson
After twenty years of coaching senior executives and leaders in the UK, USA, Europe and Australia the question that keeps Sol (now in his 70th year) going is, “how is it that the cadres of MBA’s from Harvard, Princeton, Stanford etc. and the legions of Graduates from Oxford , Cambridge etc.. who now exercise considerable influence in the Western World’s financial, political and commercial organisations have produced the levels of dysfunction we are currently experiencing?”
Sol’s contention is that many of these executives and leaders are operating with an early stage “action logic” that has limited capacity to cope with the high levels of complexity, instability and uncertainty that characterise today’s world. Sol’s coaching uses a developmental model that clarifies the level of “action logic” in use and opens the door to higher stages of “action logic” which significantly enables senior executives and leaders to create more resilient and coherent organisations better able to cope in a complex operating environment.
Some of Sol’s clients describe their experience of being coached in this model as being similar to upgrading their “software”. One senior executive in a large UK Telecomms firm recently said..
“I have learnt to trust in a new and powerful way that has given me a willingness to embrace uncertainty – to stand on the edge of what I know and lean into the next moment not knowing what is going to happen – and then step into that moment and act into that. I have learnt to use ambiguity as a tool to generate creativity.....I no longer need to know ‘how’ and impose that on the future, but find myself able to listen closely, dropping constructs around how it should be and listen to and respond to what is actually emerging...”
