Ethos: Organisation Performance Programme
A Performance Culture sustains excellence year after year. It’s hard to get this right – look at teams in sport which have found it hard to follow a big success the following year (English Rugby might be an example). And there are teams like the GB Sailing team that have learned how to get it right. Culture is ‘how it feels to work around here’, the climate, the atmosphere, the winning habits.
What are the Benefits?
Ethos, Performance1’s high Performance Culture Programme delivers:
- Embedded understanding of what to do (competencies) and how to do it (intelligences).
- Improvements to organisational and individual health, effectiveness and productive capacity.
- Clarity on how the culture of different business units and their interaction impacts upon the whole organisation’s effectiveness.
How does Ethos Work?
Phase 1
We meet with you to understand your organisation’s performance challenge and share examples of how this approach has worked in other companies. Together we develop a joint understanding of the benefits and commitment required and agree the scope.
Phase 2
We develop a map of your Performance Culture along with propositions about the interactions, possibilities, and risks inherent in cultural changes. The initial work comprises interviews, observation and desk research. Because culture can seem intangible – even when its impact is significant – we have a comprehensive assessment tool. The Organisational Evolution Framework, (OEF) scans a range of behaviors, attitudes, processes, systems and the tangible environment to create a cultural map of an organisation or its key business units.
Phase 3
We work with you to design interventions that will help to improve your performance culture. These can address leadership behaviour, reward processes, leadership intelligences and communication channels to increase the quality of conversations throughout your business and explicitly link the desired culture change to your strategy.
