Judith Ward

Judith has extensive experience as a coach, consultant and HR leader across a variety of sectors including financial services, media & technology, local and central government and the NHS in England and Scotland.

She began her career in the retail sector with Next and after leading projects in the HR practice of Grant Thornton as Managing Consultant, she moved to the NHS in Scotland, working for 12 years in a variety of senior HR and OD roles.  This included Director of OD for one of the largest NHS Boards with 9000 staff and a £450 million budget. There she led the planning and delivery of a programme of organisational transformation as a member of the leadership team which radically reshaped the Board's finances and culture after it was identified as failing.  Judith moved back into coaching and consulting full time in 2007.

Judith's main qualities as a coach and consultant are precision and responsiveness; precision in pinpointing and helping clients understand what is going on and what needs to happen, and responsiveness to what is emerging when changes come unexpectedly. She has developed these qualities through more than 20 years experience working with people and teams.

A large part of her work now focuses on coaching, largely in Executive Board or senior managerial and technical roles. As well as working as a coach and supervisor of coaches with individuals, she provides team and group supervision, action learning facilitation and team development for senior teams and Boards in a similarly broad range of organisational settings. She has a particular expertise in working with situations and people when the atmosphere is conflicted.

Judith is a Chartered Member of the CIPD,  a member of European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) and has a MSc in Group Relations (Tavistock tradition of organisational coaching/consulting).
